MOSCOW. Feb 22 (Interfax) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has warned against believing everything published by mass media, as he commented on the allegedly failed test-launch of a Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile by Russia.
"All information that deserves public coverage is provided through the channels of the Defense Ministry," Ryabkov said in response to Interfax's question.
"But I want to note that lately there have been a lot of provocative situations, including those not highlighted in the public space: outwardly provocative, in fact, completely divorced from reality, harmful hoaxes released for the sole purpose of checking how the official circles of a particular country, in this case Russia, would react. One should not trust everything one sees in the media, especially as CNN is the source," he said.
CNN said that Russia allegedly conducted a failed test-launch of a Sarmat ICBM this week. It said that Russia notified the United States about the planned test.
