Russia expecting Xi Jinping's visit - Putin

MOSCOW. Feb 22 (Interfax) - Russia is expecting a visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping following the completion of a session of the National People's Congress, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Of course, we are waiting for a visit to Russia by the president of the People's Republic of China. We agreed on it earlier," Putin said at a meeting with Office director of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Foreign Affairs Commission Wang Yi.

"We understand that there is the domestic political agenda, but we also assume that as all issues related to this agenda are resolved with the National People's Congress [...] where serious personnel issues should be resolved as well, we will also go ahead with our plans with regard to personal meetings, which will give an additional impetus to the development of our relations," he said.
