Chinese-Russian relations unaffected by pressure from third parties - Chinese diplomat in meeting with Putin

MOSCOW. Feb 22 (Interfax) - The relations between China and Russia have withstood pressure from the international community and are unaffected by influence from third parties, Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Committee and Office director of the Chinese Communist Party's Central Foreign Affairs Commission, said.

"Chinese-Russian relations have withstood the pressure from the international community and are developing in a stable way amid the very difficult, changing international situation. Although crises constantly occur, but there are opportunities in crises, and opportunities also turn into crises, it's a historical experience, and we need to make active efforts to react to crises and opportunities to deepen our cooperation," Wang Yi said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Chinese-Russian relations are not against third countries "and are unaffected by pressure from third parties," he said. "Because we have a very strong foundation in terms of economy, politics, and culture. We have a lot of experience. It's exactly because we maintain multipolarity and democratization in international relations together. It is fully in line with the current and historical tendencies, it's also in the interests of most countries," he said.
