MOSCOW. Feb 22 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he has listened to reports from the top military leadership on the latest developments in the special military operation, during which he was informed about an ongoing battle.
To speak at a ceremonial concert in the run-up to Fatherland Defenders' Day, Putin went on stage along with participants in the special military operation, including pilots, infantrymen, artillerists, paratroopers, tankmen, and sailors.
"We have gathered here actually for a festive event, but I know, I've just listened to reports from the country's top military leadership, that a battle is going on right now on our historical boundaries for our people. It's being waged by courageous warriors just like the ones standing here with us, they're fighting heroically, courageously, and bravely," Putin said.
