TYUMEN. Feb 22 (Interfax) - Operatives from the Federal Security Service (FSB) division for the Tyumen region have detained a resident of the Khanty-Mansii autonomous district suspected of plotting an act of sabotage on a railway infrastructure element, the division said on Wednesday.
Being an ideological opponent of the special military operation in Ukraine, the suspect planned to disable metal relay cabinets containing railway automation and remote control equipment on railway sections and stations, it said.
"The Nizhnevartovsk resident acquired what he needed to put his design into practice and proceeded toward a section of the Sverdlovsk Railway he determined in advance, where FSB operatives detained him red-handed," it said.
A criminal case has been opened on a count of attempted act of sabotage, it said.
