Govt proposes adding new Russian regions to Moscow time zone

MOSCOW. Feb 22 (Interfax) - The government has submitted a bill to the State Duma on the inclusion of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), the Lugansk People's Republic (LPR), the Zaporozhye Region and the Kherson Region in the territories forming the second time zone (UTC+3).

The relevant initiative is published on the legislative database of the lower house of the Russian parliament.

At present, Moscow time is practically in effect in these Russian constituent entities, the explanatory note said.

The enactment of the regulations stipulated by the draft federal law will not entail any socio-economic, financial or other consequences, including for the entities of entrepreneurship and other economic activities.
