MINSK. Feb 27 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that he believes Ukraine would not resort to an exacerbation of the situation in Transdniestria.
"I don't believe in it. It is not advantageous for them," the BelTA state-run news agency cited Lukashenko as saying at the Raubichi winter Olympic sports training center outside Minsk.
"The West would want to solve the problem involving Russia in the Transdniestria as well with one strike, close this 'grey hole' as they call it, unite Moldova and push it into Romania or make it pro-Western. That's their goal. Ukrainians do not need that. I don't believe that would lose their minds and open some second front," he said.
