Russia supplies Belarus with Iskander system with missiles, S-400 system - Lukashenko

MINSK. Feb 27 (Interfax) - Russia has supplied Belarus with an Iskander short-range ballistic missile system with ammunition and an S-400 air-defense missile system, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said.

"Seeking to equip the Belarusian element of the regional group of forces, Russia has supplied us with an Iskander short-range ballistic missile system with the relevant stock of missiles," the state-run media outlet SB. Belarus Segodnya quoted Lukashenko as saying at a meeting on the financing of military goods procurement in Minsk on Monday.

"An S-400 long-range air-defense missile system has also been delivered. This is what you, the military, wanted and what you received. It is a serious weapon," Lukashenko said.

"A battery of Tor air-defense missile systems, anti-tank guided missiles, mortars, man-portable rocket-assisted flamethrowers and over 830,000 rounds of various calibers - almost one million - have been purchased and supplied under the state armament program. Sukhoi Su-30SM planes, Mil Mi-35M helicopters, armored personnel carriers, alongside other weapons, missiles and ammunition will be delivered," he said.
