MOSCOW. Feb 27 (Interfax) - Russia's Pacific Fleet is holding a comprehensive exercise in southern Primorye Territory, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
"The Marshal Krylov tracking ship of the Pacific Fleet entered the Peter the Great Gulf to participate in a comprehensive naval exercise. The ship will drill organizing communication with surface ships and submarines, as well as with the fleet's ground command posts. Moreover, Kamov Ka-27 of the Pacific Fleet's naval aviation will land on the Marshal Krylov," the statement said.
The scheduled exercise will involve establishing communication between the Marshal Krylov and more than 10 surface ships, submarines, ground command posts, and aircraft, it said.
According to open-source data, the Marshal Krylov is a tracking ship for flight development tests of new types of rocket and space hardware. The ship is about 200 meters long. Its crew is 350 people. It can carry up to two Kamov Ka-27 deck-based helicopters.
