TIRASPOL. Feb 27 (Interfax) - Transdniestria leader Vadim Krasnoselsky has called on local residents to remain calm and not fall prey to panic.
"If real danger threatens the people, I will personally and urgently inform the citizens about that. It's important not to fall prey to panic sentiment. Everyone should perfectly know how to act in a particular situation and strictly follow these rules," Krasnoselsky said at a teleconference with the heads of the region's administrative bodies on Monday.
The teleconference was focused on discussing the situation "along Transdniestria's outer perimeter," the press service of the regional administration head said.
Krasnoselsky described the situation as tense but called for remaining calm.
The Russian Defense Ministry said last week that the Ukrainian leadership was plotting armed provocations in Transdniestria in order to blame Russia for them.
The Ukrainian leadership said it was Russia that was planning to destabilize the situation in Moldova.
