Russian Defense Ministry reports destruction of Ukrainian ammo depot in Nikolayev region

MOSCOW. Feb 27 (Interfax) - Russian forces have destroyed a Ukrainian Armed Forces ammunition depot in the Nikolayev region, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

"An ammunition depot of the Ukrainian Armed Forces 63rd mechanized brigade has been destroyed near Snigiryovka in the Nikolayev region," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Monday.

"In the Kherson sector, up to 60 Ukrainian troops were killed and four automobiles and two D-30 howitzers were destroyed while fired upon in the past 24 hours," he said.

A Ukrainian ammunition depot has also been destroyed in the Zaporozhye region, he said.

"In the Krasny Liman theater of operations, the central group of forces' actions and strikes by tactical aircraft and artillery and heavy flamethrower systems have targeted Ukrainian Armed Forces units near Yampolovka and Torskoye in the Donetsk People's Republic and Chervonopopovka and Chervona Dibrova of the Lugansk People's Republic," he said.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost about 140 troops killed and injured, as well as three armored fighting vehicles, three automobiles, a Gvozdika self-propelled howitzer, and a D-20 howitzer destroyed in said sector, he said.

"In the Kupyansk area, units of the western group of forces fired upon enemy personnel and hardware near Novosyolovskoye of the Lugansk People's Republic and near Dvurechnaya, Gryanikovka, Masyutovka, Olshana, Liman Pervy, and Sinkovka of the Kharkov region," Konashenkov said.

"Up to 70 Ukrainian troops were killed and three armored fighting vehicles and two automobiles were destroyed in said sector over the past 24 hours," he said.
