Russia's Patrushev meets with Algerian president, confirms similarity of positions on majority of issues

MOSCOW. Feb 27 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev has been received by President of Algeria Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the Russian Security Council's press service said.

"In particular, Nikolai Patrushev noted that Russia views Algeria as one of the key foreign policy partners, also stressing that the positions of our countries are close or coincide on the majority of topics on the international and regional agenda," the press service said.

During the meeting, Patrushev and Tebboune discussed a wide range of issues concerning Russia-Algeria cooperation in various fields, it said.

Earlier on Monday, Patrushev held meetings with Chief of the General Staff of Algeria Said Chanegriha and Director General of Documentation and External Security Mhenna Djebbar," the press service said.

"The parties discussed interaction between law enforcement agencies and security services, as well as other issues regarding Russia-Algeria cooperation in the field of security," it said.
