MOSCOW. Feb 28 (Interfax) - Radio stations and television channels in different regions of Russia were subject to a hacker attack, the press service for the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry said on Tuesday.
"Due to hacking of servers of radio stations and television channels in some regions of the country, information on air raid alert was circulated. The Emergency Situations Ministry of the Russian Federation reports that this information is false and is not consistent with the reality," the press service said.
The governments of Russia's Voronezh and Belgorod regions have also denied air raid alert announcements that were broadcast by the regions' radio stations on Tuesday morning.
The situation in the regions is under control and no incidents have been reported.
The regional authorities ask residents to stay calm and to trust only reliable sources of information.
