CHERKESSK. Feb 28 (Interfax) - A local court handed down custody terms to four residents of Russia's republic of Karachayevo-Cherkessia in their absence over an attack on a judge of the republic's Arbitration Court and a senior treasury official, the Russian Investigative Committee's regional branch said on Monday.
"In response to the investigator's motion, a restraining measure in the form of a custody term was imposed on the suspects in their absence," it said.
Investigators know the suspects' current location and have already put them on the international wanted list, it said.
The Russian Interior Ministry's branch for Karachayevo-Cherkessia earlier announced a reward of 500,000 rubles for information about the whereabouts of these four persons.
As reported, four men armed with baseball bats attacked a judge of Karachayevo-Cherkessia's Arbitration Court and a deputy head of the Federal Treasury's directorate for the republic in Cherkessk on February 20.
According to preliminary reports, the assailants fled the scene. A criminal case was opened after the incident on charges of attempted murder and a robbery attack.
