YEREVAN. April 11 (Interfax) - Armenia's Defense Ministry has dismissed Azerbaijani media reports claiming that the Armenian side used Iranian drones and has stated that its army does not have any.
"Azerbaijani media allegations about the Armenian side using Iranian drones are inconsistent with reality. There are no Iranian drones in service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia," the Armenian ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
Furthermore, "rumors about shooting in the direction of Vardenis at this point are inconsistent with reality, that area is relatively stable at the moment," it said.
"As of 7:35 p.m. the situation on the front line is relatively stable," the statement said.
According to reports from Baku and Yerevan, there are dead and injured on both sides as a result of a skirmish.
Earlier, Armenia's Defense Ministry accused the Azerbaijani military of firing mortars in an attack toward the Armenian village of Tegh in the Syunik region on the border with Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry had said that the Armenian side was targeting Azerbaijani army positions with mortars and large-caliber weapons.
