ROSTOV-ON-DON. April 13 (Interfax) - T-72B tanks from the Russian Southern Military District's base in Armenia hit a mock enemy's targets at the Alagyaz highland range during a preparedness check at the end of the winter training season, the district press service said in a statement.
"Tanks fired all types of weapons at various targets imitating troops, military hardware and anti-tank systems of the mock enemy during daytime and at night. Tracer ammunition and night vision devices were used to hit the targets during nighttime," the statement said.
Servicemen of the Southern Military District demonstrated cohesion of crews in a highly mobile engagement and maintained battle order, communication and troop control while fulfilling training missions, it said.
Crews mastered skills of tank operation in limited visibility and in the highlands with natural and artificial obstacles, it said.
