YEREVAN. April 17 (Interfax) - Two Azerbaijani soldiers who crossed the Armenian border in April have been charged and arrested, the Armenian Prosecutor General's Office said.
"Azerbaijani citizens Agshin Gabili Babirov and Hussein Ahlimani Ahundov have been charged with illegally conspiring to cross the Armenian state border as a group, and with smuggling arms and ammunition and concealing them from customs officials," it said.
A general-jurisdiction court in Yerevan issued an order for the arrest of the Azerbaijani citizens.
The Armenian Defense Ministry said earlier that two Azerbaijani soldiers who had crossed the border had been arrested.
In turn, the Azerbaijani State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons said that the soldiers went missing during bad weather with limited visibility in the Shahbuz district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic bordering Armenia.
