Additional battalion of volunteers from Bashkortostan heads to special military operation zone

UFA. Ma 12 (Interfax) - Fighters from the General Tagir Kusimov Bashkir volunteer battalion are heading for military cohesion training, the leader of Bashkortostan, Radiy Khabirov, said on Telegram on Friday.

"The new battalion will become part of the Bashkir motorized infantry volunteer regiment that we are now forming. The regiment will be called 'Bashkortostan', and soldiers from our republic will fight shoulder to shoulder in it," Khabirov said.

Regional authorities will provide assistance to the battalion's soldiers and their families, "just as they do for all our servicemen participating in the special military operation," he said.

It was reported earlier that three Bashkir volunteer battalions - named in honor of General Shaimuratov, Alexander Dostovalov, and the national hero Salavat Yulayev (the latter battalion is part of Russia's National Guard) joined the special military operation in 2022. Two more - the Vatan battalion, and another named in honor of the Great Patriotic War hero Dayan Murzin - headed for cohesion training in April of this year.

Bashkortostan is supplying the battalions with uniforms and special equipment. The region also pays the volunteers 200,000 rubles in material assistance, 2,000 rubles per day once they sign up, and 200,000 rubles after every 180 days of service in the special military operation zone.
