Belgorod governor denies Borisovka district infiltrated by saboteurs

VORONEZH. May 23 (Interfax) - Vyacheslav Gladkov, governor of Russia's Belgorod region, has denied Telegram reports alleging infiltration of the Borisovka district by saboteurs.

"Certain Telegram channels have been interpreting this information as an incursion by a sabotage and reconnaissance group and are trying to sow panic among people. There has been no incursion. The Federal Security Service, the Emergency Situations Ministry and the Defense Ministry have not confirmed this information. The military is doing its work. I will keep you informed if the situation changes," Gladkov said on Telegram on Tuesday.

The Borisovka district has been shelled from Ukraine, he said.

"There have been reports about the Borisovka district, the villages of Bogun Gorodok, Lozovaya Rudka and Tsapovka. To our knowledge, they were attacked from positions [occupied by] the Ukrainian Armed Forces and hit," Gladkov said.

There have been no civilian casualties or damage, he added.
