MOSCOW. May 24 (Interfax) - Poland is a state hostile to Russia, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"Poland is a state hostile to us," Peskov said in an interview to journalist Pavel Zarubin, in commenting on former Polish Deputy Defense Minister Waldemar Skrzypczak's remark that his country was preparing to possibly intervene in combat actions in Belarus, expecting that an uprising might occur there.
"The Polish leadership is literally going into hysterics and Russophobia now," Peskov said.
"We see that this state, which is hostile to us, is actually saying openly that it intends to interfere immediately, including by using force, in a neighboring state's internal affairs," Peskov said.
He pointed out that Belarus is Russia's partner and ally.
"Naturally, the Russian Federation has obligations to ensure Belarus's security, which we will do in the face of such an obvious threat," Peskov said.
