ST. PETERSBURG. June 16 (Interfax) - United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will not take part in the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) but is expected to hold one-on-one talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.
"You know that the Emirates is a country which is the main guest of the St. Petersburg forum this year. Quite a representative delegation has arrived. Al Nahyan will be heading the delegation today," Peskov told reporters at a press briefing in St. Petersburg. The UAE president is not heading the working group to the SPIEF, he said.
"This morning, Putin and Al Nahyan will visit the UAE pavilion, the UAE display, after which bilateral talks will take place. They will be one-on-one talks, but, if need be, ministers, the heads of agencies whom the leaders will deem advisable to invite will be invited," Peskov said.
These talks will continue up to the start of the SPIEF plenary session, he said.
"Al Nahyan will not participate in this plenary session, as his schedule does not allow him to do it. He will have already left the Russian Federation by then," Peskov said.
The Algerian president will join Putin at the SPIEF plenary session, Peskov said.
