MOSCOW. July 13 (Interfax) - The Basmanny District Court in Moscow has granted investigators' motion for in-absentia arrest of Vladimir Milov (designated as a foreign agent in Russia) on counts of spreading fake information about the Russian Armed Forces, the court press service told Interfax on Thursday.
"The court has ordered that Milov be placed under arrest for two months since the moment he is extradited to Russia or detained in the Russian territory," the press service said.
It said Milov had been charged in absentia with publicly spreading knowingly false information about actions of the Russian Armed Forces under the guise of accurate information. He is wanted.
Milov is an opposition member who served as a Russian deputy energy minister in the early 2000s. He used to cooperate with opposition activists Boris Nemtsov and Alexei Navalny.
