Sixteen Ukrainian attacks repelled in Donetsk sector - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. July 14 (Interfax) - Sixteen Ukrainian attacks have been repelled in the Donetsk sector alongside three in the Krasny Liman sector over the past 24 hours, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Friday.

"Over the past day, the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the Donetsk and Krasny Liman sectors. In the Donetsk sector, the combined efforts of units from the southern group of forces repelled 16 enemy attacks near Belogorovka in the Lugansk People's Republic [LPR], and Zaitsevo, Vesyoloye, Krasnogorovka, Severnoye, Maryinka and west of Kleshcheyevka in the Donetsk People's Republic [DPR]," Konashenkov said.

Another three attacks were repelled in the Krasny Liman sector, he said.

"Ukrainian troops and hardware were hit near Bogdanovka and Krasnogorovka in the DPR. Two ammo depots of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' 79th Air Assault Brigade and the 35th Marine Brigade were destroyed near Paraskoviyevka and Razliv in the DPR," Konashenkov said.

"The enemy lost up to 280 troops, three armored combat vehicles, four trucks, a Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery system, a D-20 howitzer, and a U.S.-made AN/TPQ-36 counter-mortar radar," he said.

In the Krasny Liman sector, units of the central group of forces supported by artillery and heavy flamethrowers "repelled three enemy attacks near Nevskoye in the LPR and Grigorovka in the DPR over the past 24 hours," Konashenkov said.

Ukrainian units were hit near Nevskoye, Chervonaya Dibrova and Karmazinovka in the LPR. A Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group was neutralized near Kuzmino in the LPR," he said.

"Up to 90 Ukrainian troops were killed, and one tank, three armored combat vehicles, three trucks and two D-30 howitzers were destroyed during the day," Konashenkov said.
