Traffic halted on Crimea's Tavrida motorway due to fire at military training range - Aksyonov

ROSTOV-ON-DON. July 19 (Interfax) - The Tavrida federal motorway in Crimea was temporarily closed to traffic on Wednesday due to a fire raging at a military training ground, head of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov said.

"Traffic was suspended on the Tavrida motorway because of a fire that broke out at a military training range in the Kirovskoye district. A new pattern for automobile traffic will be made public shortly," Aksyonov said on his Telegram channel, without naming the cause of the fire.

Aksyonov's advisor Oleg Kryuchkov said on his Telegram channel that the road's section from the 118th kilometer to the 130th kilometer is currently closed to traffic.

"Traffic is being rerouted via the regional network through the communities of Stary Krym and Pervomaiskoye. It is the old Kerch road," Kryuchkov said.

The Tavrida motorway runs from the Crimean Bridge in the east of the peninsula to the city of Sevastopol in the south.
