Ukrainian attacks on Donetsk, Russian border regions intensify - Shoigu

KUBINKA, Moscow region. Aug 15 (Interfax) - Ukrainian forces have intensified attacks on residential areas of Donetsk and Russian border regions, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

"Ukrainian attacks on residential areas of Donetsk and other communities not controlled by Kiev, as well as Russian border regions have been intensifying," Shoigu said at the Moscow Conference on International Security on Tuesday.

"Since the first days of the conflict, the Ukrainian authorities have been broadly using civilian facilities as a cover for troops and hardware," he said.

Ukrainian forces turn schools into barracks and "build strongholds and positions for heavy hardware in residential areas," Shoigu said.
