MOSCOW. Aug 18 (Interfax) - The tracking down and destruction of a mock enemy submarine have been practiced in the Baltic Sea, the Russian military said on Friday.
"A training mission searching for a mock enemy's submarine has been accomplished," the Russian Baltic Fleet's press service said.
The exercise involved a strike group comprising the Boiky and Soobrazitelny corvettes, it said.
"The corvettes tracked down a mock enemy's submarine. Having exchanged data and established the target coordinates, the corvettes simulated the firing of torpedoes at the undersea target," the press service said.
The corvettes were supported by Kamov Ka-27PL anti-submarine helicopters of marine aviation, it said.
It was a scheduled exercise, the press service said.
