Russian military reports repelling Ukrainian attack near Urozhainoye in DPR

MOSCOW. Aug 21 (Interfax) - The Russian eastern group of forces has reported repelling a Ukrainian attack near Urozhainoye in the Donetsk Peoples Republic (DPR).

"Forward units from the eastern group of forces, supported by artillery and aircraft, have repelled the enemy's attack in the direction of Urozhainoye, destroying three units of enemy troops. An attack drone destroyed a tank of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," group spokesman Oleg Chekhov said.

The eastern group of forces neutralized two Ukrainian reconnaissance groups near Chervonoye, he said.

Russian artillery destroyed a Ukrainian position near Staromayorskoye, a command post near Velikaya Novosyolka and two bases of Ukrainian forces in Ugledar, Chekhov said.

Two mortar crews were killed near Severodonetskoye and Makarovka by counterbattery measures, he said.

"Rocket artillery destroyed an ECM station near Razdolnoye. Attack aircraft and army aviation hit concentrations of Ukrainian troops and hardware near Staromayorskoye and Urozhainoye. Air defense downed two fixed-wing drones," Chekhov said.
