MOSCOW. Sept 26 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian counteroffensive has stalled, and Western weapons being supplied to the Ukrainian Armed Forces are ineffective against Russian military equipment, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said.
"The Ukrainian forces' counteroffensive has stalled. Ukraine keeps suffering huge human losses and ruining its own infrastructure," Patrushev said at Russian-Egyptian security consultations in Cairo on Tuesday.
The Western weapons being supplied to Ukraine "have proven to be ineffective against Russian hardware, and Ukrainians are gradually expending them on the battlefield," Rossiiskaya Gazeta quoted Patrushev as saying.
The Ukrainian army "is actively using aerial and sea drones, as well as missile weapons, received from abroad," he said.
Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said while speaking at a Defense Ministry board meeting earlier on Tuesday that the Ukrainian counteroffensive did not produce "any significant results."
