WASHINGTON. Sept 26 (Interfax) - U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke by phone with Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev on Tuesday to discuss the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Department of State said.
"The Secretary spoke again to President Aliyev today and underscored the urgency of no further hostilities," the department's spokesman Matthew Miller told a briefing.
The secretary stressed the importance of allowing humanitarian aid unhindered access to the region and freedom of movement for civilians, the spokesman said.
"President Aliyev has said that there will be no further military action and we expect him to abide by that," Miller said.
