Turkmenistan enjoys well-deserved authority on world stage - Putin (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Sept 27 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has sent greetings to National Leader of the Turkmen People, chairman of the upper chamber of the Turkmen parliament Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow on the 32nd anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence.

"I am sure that further enhancement of the entire range of Russian-Turkmen relations fully meets the interests of our peoples and corresponds to the course towards bolstering regional stability and security," Putin said in his greetings published on the Kremlin website on Wednesday.

Turkmenistan "confidently advances on the path of economic and social development and enjoys well-deserved authority on the world stage," he said.

Putin also noted the significant role of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow in the establishment of a strategic partnership between Russia and Turkmenistan.

Later that day, Putin congratulated Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Turkmenistan's Independence Day and noted the importance of Turkmen neutrality for stability in Central Asia.

"The economic and social achievements of your country are well known. The policy of positive neutrality pursued by Ashgabat is an important factor in strengthening security and stability in Central Asia and the Caspian region," the greetings published on the Kremlin website said.

Russia attributes "great significance to [its] relations of enhanced strategic partnership with Turkmenistan," the greetings said.

"I am confident that together we will be able to ensure the further development of fruitful bilateral cooperation in all areas and constructive interaction in global affairs to the benefit of our friendly peoples," Putin said.
