MOSCOW. Sep 28 (Interfax) - The Russian military has conducted exercises involving simulated launches of Bastion cruise missiles from the Baltic Sea coast and Bal missiles from the coast of the Gulf of Finland, the Baltic Fleet's press service said on Thursday.
"In accordance with the combat training plans of the Baltic Fleet, Bal coastal missile systems in the Leningrad region and Bastion systems in the Kaliningrad region conducted exercises involving strikes on sea targets and the destruction of mock enemy ship strike groups," the press service said.
The systems carried out simulated launches against the mock enemy ships, and the objective control devices that monitored the launches confirmed that all targets were successfully hit, it said.
The exercise involved divisions of the Bal and Bastion coastal missile systems of the Leningrad and Baltic Naval Bases, sea and air reconnaissance systems, more than 100 servicemen, and some 15 pieces of military and special hardware, it said.
