MAKHACHKALA. Nov 1 (Interfax) - Another ten suspects have been arrested following mass unrest at the airport of Makhachkala, Dagestan, the press service for the Dagestani Supreme Court told Interfax.
"Another ten residents of the Karabudakhkent district of Dagestan have been arrested after the unrest at the Makhachkala airport," the press service said.
"Eight were placed under administrative arrest for eight days, and two were given 60 hours of community service for health reasons," it said.
Earlier reports said that seven airport rioters were placed under arrest from three to ten days.
The Russian Federal Air Transport Agency said in the evening of October 29 that the Makhachkala airport was temporarily closed for arrivals and departures, as unknown persons had broken into the apron. Dagestan head Sergei Melikov announced full resumption of airport service on Tuesday.
According to the Dagestani Health Ministry, about 20 people were hurt in the unrest.
A criminal case was opened on counts of organizing mass unrest by calls for illegal actions at the Makhachkala airport.
The detention of dozens of suspects was reported. Their houses were searched. The central staff of the Russian Investigative Committee is investigating criminal cases against the suspects.
