MOSCOW. Dec 22 (Interfax) - Russian forces have downed three fighter jets, one attack plane and three helicopters of the Ukrainian Armed Forces over the past week, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.
"Air defense forces downed four planes of the enemy over the past week, including a Sukhoi S-27, two MiG-29 jets and one Su-25, as well as three helicopters, among them two Mil Mi-24 and an Mi-8, of the Ukrainian Air Force," the ministry said.
It also reported downing 259 Ukrainian drones over the week.
"In addition, an ATACMS tactical missile, 30 projectiles fired by HIMARS high mobility artillery rocket systems and Uragan and Olkha multiple rocket launchers, and three JDAM guided air bombs were intercepted," the ministry said.
In total, 554 planes, 261 helicopters and 9,955 drones of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation, it said.
