Russian military reports 10 violations of Syria's airspace by U.S.-led coalition aircraft

MOSCOW. Dec 28 (Interfax) - Aircraft of the U.S.-led international anti-terrorist coalition continued to create dangerous situations in Syria's airspace, deputy head of the Russian Center for Reconciliation of Opposing Sides in Syria Rear Adm. Vadim Kulit said.

"Over the past 24 hours, the coalition committed four breaches of the deconfliction protocols of December 9, 2019 related to flights of unmanned aerial vehicles that were not agreed with the Russian side," Kulit said at a press briefing on Wednesday.

Six violations of Syria's airspace by two pairs of the coalition's F-15 fighter jets and a pair of F-16 fighter jets were recorded in the Al-Tanf area over the past day, he said.

Six attacks on Syrian government forces' positions by the Jabhat al-Nusra and Turkistan Islamic Party terrorist groups, both banned in Russia, were observed in the Idlib de-escalation area over the past day, he said.

"One Syrian soldier was killed by sniper fire opened by illegal armed formations near the community of Maaret Moukhos in the Idlib province on Syrian government forces' positions located near Kafr Nabl," Kulit said.
