Shoigu orders enhancement of forces protecting Russian border

MOSCOW. Feb 9 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has ordered that forces protecting the Russian border be enhanced with reconnaissance and attack systems, the Defense Ministry said on Friday.

Shoigu inspected the staff of the group protecting the Russian border and was briefed by the group commander, the chief of the Ground Forces Staff, and officers from the Federal Security Service's border department and the Russian National Guard on their comprehensive interaction and joint operations, the ministry said.

"The Russian defense minister ordered that the forces be enhanced with reconnaissance and attack systems," it said.
