PARIS. Feb 19 (Interfax) - French President Emmanuel Macron and his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky signed a bilateral security agreement at the Elysee Palace in Paris on Friday evening.
"We will stay committed to supporting Ukraine. That's the meaning of the ten-year agreement we have concluded and that will be valid until Ukraine enters into NATO. By this agreement, France undertakes to give additional military assistance of 3 billion euros in 2024, following the allotment of 1.7 billion in 2022 and 2.1 billion in 2023," Macron said.
France will give comprehensive support, including the delivery of military equipment, cooperation in the defense industry, in particular, the development of joint production, personnel training and intelligence, he said.
"We invest in European security and in strengthening Europe's industrial, technological and defense base. This is already a lot. We are determined to do even more," Macron said.
He also said he would visit Ukraine in the first half of March.
