MOSCOW. Feb 29 (Interfax) - Ninety-three Ukrainian drones, an S-300 air defense missile system and three command posts, including the command post of the Ukrainian army's Kupyansk tactical group, were destroyed in the special military operation zone in Ukraine over the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Thursday.
"Tactical aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles, missile units and artillery of the [Russian] group of forces struck the command post of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Kupyansk tactical group and two more command posts of the Ukrainian 72nd Mechanized Brigade and 59th Mechanized Infantry Brigade, as well as an S-300PS air defense missile system, three ammunition depots, and troops and military hardware in 126 districts," it said.
Russian air defense forces shot down nine HIMARS missiles and two JDAM guided air-launched bombs over the past day, it said.
"Ninety-three Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were destroyed over Lisichansk and Golikovo in the Lugansk People's Republic, Kurdyumovka, Pervomaiskoye and Krinichnaya in the Donetsk People's Republic, and Mikhailovka in the Zaporozhye region," the ministry said.
"A total of 575 planes, 267 helicopters, 13,715 unmanned aerial vehicles, 475 air defense missile systems, 15,286 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles, 1,227 multiple rocket launcher vehicles, 8,223 field artillery systems and mortars, and 19,211 special military automobiles have been destroyed since the start of the special military operation," it said.
