VORONEZH. March 6 (Interfax) - A fuel and lubricants depot at Metalloinvest's Mikhailovsky mining and processing plant (MPP) has again been attacked by a Ukrainian drone, the governor of Russia's Kursk region Roman Starovoit said.
"A second Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle hit the fuel and lubricants warehouse of the Mikhailovsky MPP in the Zheleznogorsk district. No one was injured. Emergency services are working at the scene," Starovoit said on his Telegram channel on Wednesday.
Emergency Situations Ministry teams are working at the site of the incident in Zheleznogorsk, the press service for the ministry's Kursk region branch said.
"The preliminary information available indicates that tanks for storage of petroleum products caught fire. There are enough personnel and equipment. No casualties have been reported," the press service said.
The number of burning fuel tanks has not been disclosed.
The enterprise's operations have not been affected by the second drone attack.
"There was a second attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle on the plant's fuel and lubricants warehouse. No one was injured. Emergency services continue to put out the blaze. The production process at the Mikhailovsky mining and processing plant continues as usual," the plant said in a press release.
Starovoit earlier reported a fire at a fuel and lubricants depot in the Zheleznogorsk district.
Metalloinvest confirmed the drone attack on its plant's territory, where a fuel tank caught fire. There were no casualties.
The Mikhailovsky plant is one of the largest iron ore mining and processing enterprises in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
