Beneficiaries of terror attacks in Russia must be identified - Putin

MOSCOW. April 2 (Interfax) - The masterminds behind terror attacks in Russia need to understand that terrorism is a double-edged sword, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"Those who use this weapon - and this weapon is being used against Russia - need to understand that this is a double-edge sword," Putin said at an expanded board meeting of the Russian Interior Ministry on Tuesday.

"It is important that we identify both the perpetrators and every link of the chain, the ultimate criminal beneficiaries of this atrocity [the terror attack on Crocus City Hall]. I am sure we will get them," he said.

Cases when crimes are committed for money are not isolated, Putin said. "There are no reliable agents in this community. They do whatever they are asked in exchange for money, guided by solely financial considerations, rather than religious or political ones. Any information can be easily bought and sold. No doubt, we will get the masterminds," he said.
