Russian Defense Ministry reports destroying 3 Ukrainian Su-25 attack place at home base, 5 S-300 launchers

MOSCOW. April 5 (Interfax) - Russian forces have destroyed three Sukhoi Su-25 attack planes of the Ukrainian Air Forces at their home base and five S-300 air defense missile system launchers, and also downed two Su-27 fighter jets and a MiG-29 over the past week, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

"Missile forces, artillery and unmanned aerial vehicles of the groups of forces have destroyed three Su-25 attack planes of the Ukrainian Air Force at their home base and five S-300 air defense missile system launchers over the week," the ministry said.

It also reported downing two Su-27 fighter jets and a MiG-29 of the Ukrainian Air Forces and destroying five Hammer and JDAM guided bombs, 91 HIMARS, Vampire and Uragan rockets, and 1,119 Ukrainian drones.

Seven Ukrainian servicemen surrendered over the past week, the ministry said.

"In total, 583 planes, 270 helicopters, 18,892 unmanned aerial vehicles, 495 air defense missile systems, 15,691 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,264 multiple rocket launchers, 8,674 artillery systems and mortars, and 20,627 special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation," it said.
