PARIS. April 9 (Interfax) - The recent attack on a facility located on the grounds of the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) indicates an extremely serious situation as regards the plant's safety and security, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said.
"No direct threat to nuclear safety this time but latest incident again underlines extremely serious situation," the IAEA press service quoted Grossi as saying on X.
The ZNPP said earlier that the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the plant's unique simulator center.
This was the fifth attack on the ZNPP in April.
Earlier on Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said at a press conference in Beijing that Russia was interested in maintaining cooperation with the IAEA and the United Nations Secretariat in the context of the situation surrounding the ZNPP.
