MOSCOW. June 21 (Interfax) - Russia is ready for dialogue with the United States, but this should embrace the entire range of issues, including the Ukraine conflict and U.S. involvement in it, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"The Russian president has talked about the prospects for dialogue and said that we are ready for dialogue with the United States, which, however, has to be comprehensive. It is impossible to isolate certain segments from the general context of accumulated problems, and we will not do that," Peskov told reporters.
"So, we are open to dialogue, but it has to be a broad, comprehensive dialogue embracing every dimension, including the current dimension related to the conflict around Ukraine, the U.S. direct involvement in this conflict, and so on," he said.
"On the whole, the dialogue is highly relevant; it is needed, because problems are piling up and there are lots of problems related to the global security architecture," Peskov said.
Peskov was commenting on a statement by the U.S. National Security Council about Washington's readiness for talks with Moscow on nuclear risks and arms control without connecting them to the Ukraine agenda, and was responding to a question about whether Moscow was ready for dialogue with Washington in the event of an official proposal for this.
"It looks like those who make such statements did not bother to listen closely to what the Russian president has been saying," Peskov said.
