Lukashenko offers condolences on terrorist attacks in Dagestan

MINSK. June 24 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has offered his condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday's terrorist attacks in Dagestan, the Belarusian presidential press service said on Monday.

"On behalf of the Belarusian people and on his own behalf, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has expressed the most sincere condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the series of barbaric terrorist attacks in Dagestan, which left casualties among law enforcement officials and civilians," it said.

"We resolutely denounce the inhuman attacks on religious sites aimed at intimidating people, sowing panic and mistrust in each other, and disrupting interfaith peace and accord that have existed in friendly Dagestan for centuries," it said.

Lukashenko said he was sure that all those responsible for committing this grave crime would be identified and deservedly brought to justice.

"At this difficult time, I wish courage and fortitude to the relatives and loved ones of the dead to endure the irreparable loss, and I also wish the speediest possible recovery to those injured," he said.
