Putin to meet with heads of SCO member states, invited countries on sidelines of SCO summit in Astana - aide

MOSCOW. June 25 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin plans to have a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Astana on July 3-4, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said.

"The Russian president will soon take part in the SCO summit. This organization is quite influential and important to us. Kazakhstan's Astana will host the summit on July 3-4. A series of bilateral meetings with the heads of member states and invited countries is planned on the sidelines of this major event," Ushakov said at the Primakov Readings forum on Tuesday.

Putin said earlier he was hoping to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Astana.
