MOSCOW. June 26 (Interfax) - Moscow's Tagansky District Court has issued an arrest warrant for former GAZ Board President Lars Erik Ebbe Eberhardson, who is charged with fraud.
"The court granted the motion of preliminary investigation bodies for Lars Erik Ebbe Eberhardson, a Swedish national, to be taken into custody," the court told Interfax.
The two-month arrest period will count from the moment of his extradition to Russia or from the moment of his detention on the territory of Russia, it said.
Eberhardson is charged with large-scale fraud. He is facing up to ten years in a penal colony.
According to the investigators' information, Eberhardson, meaning to take possession of money belonging to the aggrieved person, misled him by deceit, providing information on investment of money in the development of entrepreneurial activities he knew was false, demanding that the aggrieved person pass a large amount of money.
To make his actions look like civil law relations, Eberhardson signed a receipt with his own hand. However, the money was not repaid in the said period and Eberhardson used it at his own disposal.
Eberhardson has been put on the international wanted list.
