Moscow court issues in-absentia arrest warrant for TV presenter Kurbangaleyeva, charged with terrorism, fakes about Russian army

MOSCOW. June 27 (Interfax) - Moscow's Zamoskvoretsky District Court has issued an in-absentia arrest warrant for TV presenter Farida Kurbangaleyeva, charged with justifying terrorism and disseminating false information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces, the court's press service said on Wednesday.

"A restraining measure in the form of a two-month custody term from the moment of her detention in Russian territory or extradition to Russia was imposed on Kurbangaleyeva," the press service said.

The TV presenter was charged in absentia with justifying terrorism and spreading knowingly false information about the actions of the Russian army, it said. She was put on the international wanted list.

The case against Kurbangaleyeva centers, in particular, on her remarks about the situation in Ukraine.
