MINSK. July 1 (Interfax) - The defense ministers of Belarus and Uzbekistan met in Minsk on Monday to discuss bilateral military cooperation, the Belarusian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Monday.
"Belarusian Defense Minister Lieut. Gen. Viktor Khrenin and Uzbek Defense Minister Lieut. Gen. Bakhodir Kurbanov held talks in Minsk," the statement said.
"The parties discussed the current state of bilateral military cooperation and outlined ways of its intensification in areas of mutual interest," it said.
The Uzbek defense minister arrived in Belarus on Monday for an official visit. He is due to attend formal events marking the Independence Day of Belarus and the 80th anniversary since the country's liberation from the Nazi German occupation.
