Russia's Kursk region declares state of emergency due to current situation - acting governor

VORONEZH. Aug 7 (Interfax) - A state of emergency has been declared in Russia's Kursk region, acting region governor Alexei Smirnov said.

"A complicated situation remains in the border areas of the Kursk region. I made a decision to declare a state of emergency in the Kursk region from August 7 in order to deal with the consequences of enemy forces infiltrating the region," Smirnov wrote on his Telegram channel on Wednesday.
