MOSCOW. Aug 14 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost up to 270 troops in the Kursk sector in the past 24 hours and up to 2,300 troops over the entire period of fighting there, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday.
"Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 270 troops, 16 armored vehicles including two tanks, a Stryker armored personnel carrier, 13 armored fighting vehicles, ten automobiles and a 122mm D-30 howitzer. Eighteen servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were taken captive," it said.
Over the entire period of combat in this sector, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost up to 2,300 troops, 37 tanks, 32 armored personnel carriers, 18 infantry fighting vehicles, 192 other armored fighting vehicles, 88 automobiles, four air defense missile systems, two multiple rocket launchers, and 15 artillery pieces, it said.
"The operation to destroy Ukrainian Armed Forces units is continuing," it said.
