Belarusian crews fire Polonez multiple rocket launchers to 300km distance for first time

MINSK. Sept 20 (Interfax) - Belarusian crews have fired upgraded Polonez multiple rocket launchers to a 300-kilometer distance for the first time at a Russian range, the Belarusian Defense Ministry's VoyenTV channel said on Friday.

"Belarusian crews have performed the first launch of Polonez-M multiple rocket launchers to a 300-kilometer distance and hit a target at a Russian range," the channel said.

"The previous modification of the multiple rocket launcher hit targets at a top distance of 200 kilometers," it said.

"The latest Polonez modification was supplied to forces last year. The new engineering solutions increased the firing range and capacities of the system, including increasing the kill zone," it said.

"Instructors from the Russian Armed Forces, including those with combat experience, took part in training the rocket system crews," Artillery and Missile Forces Commander, head of the Belarusian General Staff's Missile and Artillery Department Ruslan Chekhov said.
